Lake County Republican Chairman Endorses

Democratic Congressional Candidate

John Curely, Lake County Republican Chairman on WJOB, Monday morning praised and endorsed the Democratic congressional incumbent for a win in November. This is very good news for the Leyva campaign because every candidate John Curley has worked for or endorsed has lost their political race. The down side to this is: it is a shame that our Republican Chairman isn’t loyal to his own party. I will not let statements from anyone, Republican or Democrat, stop me from doing my best for the district of Northwest Indiana.

Times Opinion 9_28_08

Leyva is a working man looking out for working people

We have some real critical choices to make this November, not only for president but for Congress. Who really is for the working men and women of our district?

Washington is having a budget deficit for highway funds because of the lost revenues from taxpayers not driving as much. This will mean less money for road construction project around the country and possibly here.

If the price of gas were to go down, we would be driving more and financing our road and highway projects. Drilling at the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge and offshore would be a good start to become oil independent and help stop the largest transfer of wealth out of our country through the foreign oil profits. Remember, this also finances terrorism.

Now the incumbent does not want us to drill, Mark Leyva is totally in favor of responsible drilling. I think the answer of who is the right choice in November is very clear.

Vote for real change. Vote for Mark Leyva for U.S. Congress. It makes sense. He is a working man looking out for interest of the working people.

2,300 earmarks included in Congress spending bill

I want to go on record that I am against the Wall Street Bail Out. I am against giving away our children’s future so that CEO’s can have golden parachutes paid for at taxpayer’s expense. If Congress does pass this legislation, I hope they do it with safe guards and an overseeing board. Why not give every homeowner that is in florclosure the $700 Billion dollars. Everyone could pay taxes on this money that would generate revenues for our government. Taxpayers’ in foreclosure problems could pay off the homes and fix the mortgage problem, and that could stimulate the housing and real estate market. This plan would make more sense. If you disagree with Washington‘s plan, you can vote for CHANGE on November 4th.

We the people of Northwest Indiana can’t let Visclosky get away with passing the buck on the Little Cal project. He is ultimately responsible for allowing over 200 million of our tax dollars to be wasted under the is ultimately responsible for allowing over 200 million of our tax dollars to be wasted under the illusion of taking care of flooding in Northwest Indiana. It is rep Visclosky that has made a career out of obfuscating and mismanaging Northwest Indiana! Wasting tax dollars is his forte! He is in the top 6 of pork barrel earmark spending and what does NWI have to show for it? Only by the Grace of God, and hard work of Northwest Indiana taxpayers, did we stop him from getting his hands on the other half of the billion dollars he wanted to extend the ill managed South Shore. This would have most certainly ballooned into 2 billion and 20 years of incompletion as well! The solution is at hand for the people of NWI to eliminate the possibility of enormous amounts of tax dollars from being wasted by Rep. Visclosky any more! I urge all residents of NWI to vote Visclosky out of office this November and at the very least plug this leak of tax dollars from falling into the black hole of corruption.
